CHIP is constructed of melamine-covered molded birch sheets on a chrome-plated steel frame. Deceptively light, the seat and back are comprised of 27 layers of veneer, resulting in increased strength and durability. Available in both arm and armless versions, CHIP can be specified in a wide range of vibrant and neutral colors including natural birch, white, red, orange, grey, black and blue. Young product designer Antti Kotilainen has created a variety of products for both residential and contract applications. Kotilainen was educated at Finland's esteemed Lahti Design Institute and was the recipient of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design's prestigious Good Design Award in 2002.
